Shift Cancellation Policy For Professionals

Effective Date: August 5, 2025
Version: 2.0

1. Introduction

This Shift Cancellation Policy (“Policy”) outlines the expectations and consequences related to shift cancellations and no-shows by dental professionals (“Professionals”) using the Tempfind Inc. (“Tempfind”) platform (“Platform”).

The purpose of this Policy is to uphold reliability, transparency, and fairness across the Tempfind community and ensure clinics and professionals are equally accountable for their commitments.

1.1. Our Professional Culture and Community Values

At Tempfind, we understand that life happens—illness, emergencies, and unforeseen challenges are part of being human. Our goal is not to penalize but to protect the trust our platform is built on, so professionals and clinics alike can benefit from a reliable, respectful working environment.

Every confirmed shift matters. When a professional cancels late or fails to appear, patient care and clinic operations are affected. Similarly, when professionals consistently show up and communicate responsibly, clinics trust the platform more, resulting in more working opportunities and consistent income for everyone.

2. Cancellation Responsibilities

Professionals using the Tempfind platform are expected to fulfill all confirmed shifts. Any shift canceled outside of the Tempfind platform (e.g., by phone, text, or email) will be classified as a no-show by the system automatically.

3. Cancellation Procedure

  • Notice Requirement: Professionals must cancel any confirmed shift at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled start time to avoid a short-notice designation.

  • Cancellation Reason: When canceling a shift through the platform, professionals are required to provide a valid reason. This ensures accountability and maintains transparency within the platform’s shift records.

  • How to Cancel: All cancellations must be submitted through the Tempfind platform.

  • What Happens After You Cancel: When a cancellation is submitted through the platform, Tempfind immediately reposts the shift and notifies other available professionals. This automated process is crucial to helping the clinic secure a replacement and avoid canceling an entire day of patient appointments due to a no-show.

4. Consequences of Cancellation

4.1. Short-Notice Cancellations

Less than 48 hours before shift start time

  • Immediate deactivation of booking and job application features.

  • All upcoming confirmed shifts will be canceled by the system and awarded to other professionals to ensure clinics receive timely coverage.

  • Professionals must submit valid documentation (e.g., doctor’s note, police report, or equivalent proof of emergency) within two (2) calendar days to avoid further action.

4.2. Standard Cancellations

More than 48 hours before shift start time

  • First, Second & Third Occurrence: A cancellation record will be posted on the professional’s profile, which may reduce visibility in search results and affect future bookings.

  • Fourth Occurrence: May trigger review by the Tempfind team (see Accountability Deposit section below).

4.3. No-Shows

  • Zero tolerance. Immediate account deactivation.

  • Any shift canceled outside of the platform is automatically classified as a no-show.

  • All upcoming confirmed shifts will be canceled by the system and awarded to other professionals or reassigned to clinics in need.

  • Professionals must submit valid documentation within two (2) calendar days to avoid permanent removal.

  • If no documentation is received or it does not meet acceptable standards, the professional will be permanently removed from the platform with no possibility of appeal.

4.4. Accountability Deposit Requirement (Case-by-Case Basis)

In situations where cancellation behavior raises significant reliability concerns—including short-notice cancellations, multiple standard cancellations, or no-shows—Tempfind reserves the right to require a $500 accountability deposit to restore booking and job application features.

  • Refund Criteria: The deposit is fully refundable after 10 successfully completed shifts with no additional cancellations (short-notice or standard) or no-shows.

  • Forfeiture: If another shift is canceled or missed after the deposit is placed, the professional will be permanently removed from the platform, and the deposit will be transferred to the affected clinic(s) as compensation for loss of profit.

  • Decision Making: Each case is reviewed individually by the Tempfind team to ensure fairness before applying this requirement.

4.5. Permanent Removal – Final Notice

“Permanent removal” means the professional’s account is indefinitely deactivated, and they are permanently banned from using the Tempfind platform. Once this decision is made, no appeals will be considered under any circumstance.

Permanent removal only occurs when:

  • The professional fails to provide valid documentation in the required timeframe; or

  • Any additional shift is canceled or missed after an accountability deposit has been placed.

All such decisions are made at the sole discretion of Tempfind’s administrative team after a fair and thorough review.

5. Documentation Requirements

Acceptable documentation must clearly show that the Professional was unable to attend the shift due to an extenuating circumstance. This includes:

  • A medical note,

  • A government-issued emergency document (e.g., police report),

  • Or equivalent official documentation.

All proof must be submitted within two (2) calendar days of the missed shift.

6. Appeal Process

Professionals may appeal non-permanent account actions (such as temporary deactivations) by contacting info@tempfind.com. Appeals will not be accepted for cases involving permanent removal.
